You will be transforming raw, often complex data into interactive dashboards and reports. This role is crucial in helping enhance our business intelligence footprint across the organization.What Do You Offer Us?Embody and apply core values: safety, quality, integrity, ownership, service, and team.Develop and maintain documentation of BI solutions including technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials.Build enterprise data models using Microsoft’s Power BI.Ability to translate business needs into reporting requirements and technical specifications.Optimize data models and visualizations to maximize Power BI’s performance.Design and build complex and efficient enterprise-grade BI reports, scorecards, and dashboards, based on specifications that adhere to industry best practices to meet business requirements.Evaluate and improve existing BI systems and automate as needed.Ensure that BI solutions are secure, compliant, and adhere to data governance policies and procedures.Thoroughly validate the reports’ data being presented to build trust in the BI solutions provided to end users. Provide feedback as needed to internal and external resources that provide source data.Good ability to interact in a team environment with peers and members of other teams that might even be located remotely.Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism and integrity, and exercise confidentiality in all areas of performance.What We Offer You:Paid on-the-job technical and professional training.Defined career path for future growth.Competitive wages and industry-leading benefits, including Retirement Plan.What Is Required?Bachelor’s/master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Technology or 5+ years of equivalent related experience.Experience in data preparation and data warehousing projects.Experience in Microsoft BI stack with Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS.Knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.Ability to implement row-level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.Expert in data modelling and model optimizations using Power Query(M), SQL, Dataflows and Advanced DAXUnderstanding the application of BI technologies, including security, portal settings, data connection settings, refresh frequencies, interaction with data sources, etc.In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.Experience with the Agile Methodology Preferred.Strong visualization skills with proven ability to utilize the full functionality of Power BI.Knowledge of SQL server.Maintain and develop industry knowledge.Strong collaboration and people skills.Microsoft Office Skills and additional programs as defined in the job description.Strong preference for individuals with comprehensive understanding of the utility construction and maintenance sector.This position is subject to the Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) drug & alcohol testing regulations as outlined in 49 CFR Part 382 and/or 49 CFR Part 1993.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
