Job Summary:Seeking Adjunct Professor to teach
Stage Management.The Stage Management professor teaches a small hands-on studio class for BA students at Fairleigh Dickinson University's School of the Arts in Madison, New Jersey. This course teaches the craft of stage management. Working on a professional, Actors' Equity Model, the course will cover all aspects of rehearsal and performance of live theater. The course meets once a week on Fridays from 11:30AM to 12:30PM from January 27 through May 12, with one week off for Spring Break and finals on May 12.Required Qualifications:Responsibilities include meeting with the program director to go over learning objectives for the course; developing an appropriate weekly curriculum and syllabus; delivering instruction and class topics based on the course syllabus; evaluating students' work and providing feedback; submitting midterm and final grades based on university guidelines; meeting with students during office hours. Candidates should feel comfortable guiding students through the acting adjustments they need to make from stage to screen.Seeking instructors with:Professional credits as a Production Stage Manager.Thorough working knowledge of AEA rules and guidelines.MFA in Stage Management OR equivalent professional experience.Experience teaching at the college level/ in an academic setting.Experience stage managing dance, opera, concerts, sports, other media and events a plus, but not required.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.Note: Applicants must be available to teach in Madison, Jersey on Fridays from 11:30AM-2:00PM from January 27-May 12, 2023, excluding Friday, March 17.Status:
