Anchorage Transitional Living Program (TLP)

The Anchorage Transitional Living Program (TLP) serves the aging out population in the continuum of care provided by Anchor House, Inc. Established in 1992, The Anchorage provides residential and life skill services to homeless youth ages 18-21 to ensure their successful transition to independence. The program assesses the individual client’s needs and life skills upon intake and gradually advances these skills, through a level system, in order to accomplish the goal of independence. The emphasis is placed on developing employment and educational achievement while supporting the therapeutic needs and the stabilization of the resident. While in placement, residents will receive skill training in the areas of education, employment, budgeting and saving, nutrition, time management, social and communication, community resource access, self-advocacy, health and wellness, and personal enrichment. It is our goal that residents move on to independent living with substantial money in savings, an educational plan, and sufficient employment to live independently. The average savings for residents utilizing the services and savings plan is $8-$10,000. The majority of our residents are continuing their education and move on to better living arrangements and opportunities.Services Include:
