Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and candidates with clinical and academic administrative experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates with research interest in hematopathology research will be given priority. The successful candidate will hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree with board certification and subspecialty training and experience. The department is a rapidly growing academic practice with highly competitive compensation and opportunities for administrative responsibilities and protected academic time. The Department of Pathology and Microbiology has over 70 faculty members working in modern, well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities, including BSL3 and ABSL3 facilities. UNMC houses multiple core facilities to support novel and high impact research programs, including the Advanced Microscopy Core, the Electron Microscopy Core, the Proteomics Core, the Genomics and Epigenomics Cores, the Biomedical Informatics Core and others.
