Position Title: Adjunct Pool - Sports Management ProgramPosition Category: AdjunctFLSA: Non-exemptPosition Status: AdjunctLocation: Thousand OaksBasic Function: Under the direction of the Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair, Faculty Coordinator or Program Director, the Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses.Representative Duties:- Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses.- Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, and effective study skills.- Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives.- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.- Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, and course curriculum.- Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks, manuals, software, and tools.- Performs related duties as assigned.Knowledge Of:- Current theory and practice within the subject discipline.- Principles and best practices of effective teaching.Ability To:- Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject field or discipline.- Deliver course curricula in various learning styles.- Exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, and cultural backgrounds of University students.- Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process.- Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality.- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using tact, patience, and courtesy.Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a master’s degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition.Preferred Qualifications: Ph.DLicenses and other requirements: NonePhysical Abilities: Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; speaking to exchange information, provide instruction and make presentations; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; pushing, pulling or lifting light objects; bending and reaching to store and/or retrieve files.Indoor classroom environment; subject to visiting a variety of classroom sites on campus; and/or online classroom environmentOpen Date: 06/01/2020Close Date: 05/31/2025Application Procedure/Special Instructions: The Cal Lutheran School of Management invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions for the 2015-16 academic year.
