The mission of the University is to educate leaders for a global society who are strong in character and judgment, confident in their identity and vocation, and committed to service and justice.Basic FunctionUnder the direction of the Dean and Department Chair, the lecturer is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned courses. The lecturer is to serve as an academic advisor to students; contribute to department and university activities and serve on faculty and university committees.

Program Directors at the School of Management bear the overall academic and administrative responsibility and as this is a year-round program there are summer program director responsibilities. Program Directors are the face of their program for potential and current students, faculty, staff, the business and non-profit community and a general audience. They have responsibilities that are both inwardly and outwardly directed and must possess both strong analytical and inter-personal skills. In addition, the Program Director is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned graduate courses. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as an academic advisor to students and serving on faculty or university committees, as outlined in the faculty handbook.Representative DutiesPrimary responsibilities for this position include teaching 24 or 32 units/year. EProvide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses. Create assignments and activities in one-on-one, classroom, and distance mediated instructional settings for development of cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students. EParticipates in School and University level marketing and recruitment planning. EParticipates in the creation of general program related messaging, copy editing and decisions concerning the creative design for program related materials. EContinuously ensures accuracy and efficacy of program website. EClosely coordinates activities with Graduate Program Specialist, Marketing and Outreach.Participate in information sessions with potential students. EProvides leadership for curriculum development and develops and periodically revises the program mission. EDevelops program learning outcomes in alignment with university level and school level learning outcomes. EPlans, implements and participates in periodic program reviews as required by accreditation bodies. EBuilds, manages and communicates with program advisory board. EAttends commencement and participates in the organization of any commencement related activities. EObserve and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide feedback promptly to student inquiries in class, online, or during established consultation office hours. EMaintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum; prepare and submit grades, data, and reports related to the course and student progress promptly. EProvide a course syllabus to students in each class within the first week of the class, as outlined in the faculty handbook. EAdhere to the responsibilities related to teaching, advising, service, professional, and creative activities, as outlined in the faculty handbook.
