Surgical Tech-Citracado-Vascular Center

* Prepares exam rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.* Provides appropriate, direct patient care in assigned area(s).* Takes patient's vital signs and provides personal care to patients.* Opens sterile supplies and sets up procedures.* Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.* Preps charts for future clinics.* Ensures accurate maintenance of patient's medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.* Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies.* Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.* Tasks care plan from doctor's notes* Provides health care instruction to patients and family members.* Documents transactions, phone conversations, observations, and orders in medical record according to policy and procedure of clinic.* Responsible for following clinic policies and procedures for infection control in handling and disposing of infectious/hazardous waste materials.* Responsible for accurate administration of medications as appropriate and collection/handling of lab specimens.

Minimum Education:

High school or equivalentPreferred Education:

Graduate of an approved course for Surgical Technologists or MA certificate w/experience in fieldMinimum Experience:

1-2 years with experience and MA certificate or 0-6 months with Surgical Technologist CertificatePreferred Experience:

Bilingual - SpanishRequired Certification:

Surgical Technologist Certification or MA certificate with surgical procedure experience and current BLS. American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare ProviderPreferred Certification:
