Koala Health , we have our eyes set on an ambitious goal: to make managing your pet’s health simple and delightful. We’ve already launched our pharmacy service that allows people to shop for their pets’ medications and supplements online and get them delivered to their doorstep in presorted medication pouches. Now we’re focused on continuing to improve that experience while building a suite of new products and services that will make the pet health experience even better.In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and accurate entry and dispensing of medications, consultation of customers regarding their pets’ therapies, and partnering with veterinarians nationwide to ensure accurate and approved prescriptions. You will be actively involved in developing and evolving operational policies and procedures related to prescription retrieval, processing, and dispensing. Your expertise will assist in shaping best practices for a world-class customer experience.Core ResponsibilitiesProvide consultations to customers including information and advice on drug utilization, interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storageDelegate to and supervise pharmacy support staff as necessary and ensure proper ratios are maintainedOrder, receive, and stock medications following company policies and state and federal regulationsMaintain proper storage and security conditions for all drugsInteract with veterinarians to acquire prescriptions, clarify or modify prescriptions, consult on therapy considerations, and other clinical dutiesEnter and/or review prescriptions with the highest accuracyParticipate in Koala’s CQI program to identify and rectify prescription errorsDispense, review, package, and ship orders to customersAssist with maintaining proper prescription recordsAct as the pharmacist on duty when requiredEnsure compliance with all practice standards and local, state, and federal regulationsPerform other job duties as assignedBasic Qualifications and SkillsAdept at multitasking, prioritizing critical tasks, and handling conflicting requirements with acute attention to detailStrong problem-solving skills and ability to identify gaps in complex workflowsAbility to multitask and prioritize in a rapidly evolving startup environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with and knowledgeable about the application of appropriate clinical resourcesHighly organized, self-starter capable of working independentlyRequirementsDoctor of Pharmacy or equivalent degreePharmacist license in good standing with Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy and other licensed jurisdictionsNot on the DEA Excluded Parties List / free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
