What our Senior Electrical Engineers Do:
  • Lead the electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements as established by project managers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with electrical team members, architects, mechanical engineers and other engineering disciplines, vendors, contractors, and other consultants throughout the project.
  • Participate in development of project schedule, scope, and electrical engineering design hours at the proposal, project and construction planning stages.
  • Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for developing power distribution plans and one-lines, equipment and receptacle layouts, HVAC electrical requirements and connections.
  • Developing detailed designs for healthcare projects, science/technology/manufacturing plants, educational facilities, workplace environments and corrections centers.
  • Preparing design calculations for power (short circuit, coordination, arc-flash, load flow), lighting, generator sizing and coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects.
  • Editing and applying specifications (in CSI format) for individual project needs.
  • Applying codes, standards, guidelines and ordinances (local and statewide) to projects
  • Coordinating with personnel across multiple regional offices.
  • Assisting the Electrical Discipline Leader in managing and mentoring teams, coordinating schedules, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products

Skills you need to be successful in this role:
  • Ability to lead the electrical aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work on and collaborate with a project team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Technically competent in electrical engineering design.
  • Working knowledge of design in our core market sectors.
  • Proven experience overseeing electrical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects
  • Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD programs, SKM software, lighting design software and ComCheck.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code NFPA 70 and other codes related to electrical design.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power distribution systems
  • Business development and networking skills a plus.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience in electrical design of buildings and infrastructure.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience leading teams/projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
