JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of the academic program, adjunct faculty receive a contract or letter stating adjunct employment with a primary responsibility in teaching courses in Creative Arts division. Seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach courses in Web Design within the Creative Arts Division. Duties of this position include reporting to the program director, meeting with students to discuss the course, teaching web design and multimedia experiences. Candidate should demonstrate UI/UX development using HTML 5, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, and Adobe XD. Candidate should also have design knowledge using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Faculty members assess, plan, implement and evaluate instruction for students in clinical and classroom settings or studios in coordination with established course and program objectives. Serving University of Saint Francis (USF) students and the USF community is paramount. To provide a consistent quality experience across the university, the USF Way, outlined in the Employee Handbook, is used to describe service expectations for all employees.Major Responsibilities/ActivitiesAdheres to all applicable university academic and employment policies identified in the Employee and Faculty handbooks and academic catalogsRespects the moral and religious beliefs of the university and students; uses discretion when expressing personal beliefs and viewsPerforms other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or DirectorMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducationA Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college or universityMasters or graduate degree in the field of study preferred.ExperienceAt least five year’s professional experience within the field required.Experience in real-world web design
preferredExperience in kiosk and mobile web design
preferred .Knowledge and SkillsExperience in website design and layoutExperience in UI/UX design and visual aestheticsExperience in designing an interactive website that effectively communicates a messageExperience in designing responsive and reactive websitesExperience with PHP, HTML 5, CSS and JavascriptExperience with embedding videos (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and imagesExperience with Wordpress and Wix preferredDemonstrates an understanding of educational theory, instructional methods and evaluation technique and use of technology utilized in higher education in a classroom setting.Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate educational activities to assure compliance with established goals and objectives.Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents.Must be available Monday/Wednesday 1:00-3:45 for Fall 2020 course.
