UHS is currently recruiting for our COO at South Texas Health System - Edinburg (Edinburg, TX). South Texas Health System Edinburg is a Level IV Trauma Center, an accredited Chest Pain Center and a Primary Stroke Center. The ER at South Texas Health System Edinburg is for adults only, and features Senior Care ER rooms with special amenities. The hospital offers advanced imaging capabilities, minimally invasive robotic surgery, inpatient rehabilitation and other specialty services. Edinburg was awarded an 'A' from The Leapfrog Group for three straight years. HealthGrades has recognized the hospital with its highest 5-star rating in four key areas of women’s health. This places Edinburg in the top tier of quality and safety outcomes for normal deliveries, cesarean sections, gynecological surgical procedures and hysterectomies. As the Rio Grande Valley continues to grow, South Texas Health System Edinburg invested $105 million to build a new 5-story patient tower to take care of the growing healthcare needs. The recently opened new patient tower included an expanded ER, an all-new imaging department, expanded ICU beds, additional medical/surgical/telemetry beds, and an expanded inpatient rehabilitation unit with the latest technology available.In addition, the COO will be responsible for South Texas Health System Children's. The facility is the first freestanding pediatric hospital in the Rio Grande Valley. The 107-bed hospital features the region’s only exclusive pediatric emergency department, a Joint Commission certified asthma program, Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Institute as well as access to physicians in many specialty areas.The COO provides day to day operations of the hospital. Implements strategy of CEO and Corporation. Manages hospital departments efficiently and effectively to maximize quality of services and profits of the hospital.Directs effective quality operations to maximize return on investment and community reputation. Increases revenues and income before inter-company allocations, maintains or decreases the effective bad debt rate, achieves the margin percentage, and implements operating cost controls in the areas of staffing, supplies, purchased services, etc.Develops and provides quality programs and service to the community. Manages and implements programs to ensure all employees are committed to quality and service.Manages and develops employees. Through appropriate management practices, creates a hospital climate to motivate employees to highest performance.
