The Industrial Field Sales Representative

will execute sales strategy, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify needs and sell appropriate merchandise to meet those needs.- Territory to cover Southern New EnglandEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage assigned accounts.Call prospective customers and establish buying cycles, customer needs, and create a customer supplier relationship.Increase sales in respective accounts.Prepare sales information for customers.Establish buying influences, budgets and purchasing criteria for assigned accounts.Secure and place orders taking into consideration delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment.Determine clients’ requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products, services and/or solutions.Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.Provide accurate information regarding availability and pricing of in-stock items and non-stock items.Proactively recommend items needed by clients to increase efficiency and improve transaction profitability.Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering featured promotional sale items.Educate clients about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and client satisfaction.Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.Contact clients following sales to ensure ongoing client satisfaction and resolve any complaints.Remain current on client preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows and reading trade journals.Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, Tour De Force, and other common office equipment and software.Follow company policies and procedures.Present a professional image at all times to clients and vendors.Excellent written and oral communication.This job operates primarily in the field and in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses Tour De Force and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, document scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position involves driving to and from client locations, walking and standing in various environments for extended periods of time (based on client location), and telephone and computer work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally involve lifting up to 10 pounds for product material, files, and computer printouts.Requirements:5 plus yrs. experience in Outside B to B Sales or related field.Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and Tour De Force.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced changing and dynamic work environment.Must possess strong organizational skills.Works well in a group/team setting with limited supervision.Prior experience in Industrial Sales and/or Distribution.( Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions)
