Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty for the English Department in the College of Theology, Arts & Humanities. Part-time teaching opportunities are available throughout the academic year, including summer sessions. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs will be contacted for an interview.

Current opportunities include teaching the following courses for the Fall 2023 semester:

ENG-1100: English Composition - Several face-to-face sections of ENG-1100, the first-semester composition course, are available at various times; some meet Tuesday/Thursday for 75 minutes and some meet Monday/Wednesday/Friday for 50 minutes.

ENG-1101: Writing Studio Workshop - A supplemental one credit hour writing course that meets once a week to assist students in ENG-1100

Minimum Requirements:

Education: M. A. in English or Rhetoric/Composition required; Ph.D. in English (or ABD) preferred

Experience: At least two years of experience teaching first-year college writing courses preferred; applicants with other relevant teaching experience will be considered

Excellent organizational skills

Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Ability to handle all situations in a pleasant and professional manner

Candidates must support and be committed to the
