The Homeland Security Planner series includes Planner II, Planner III, and Planner IV. Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, preparing meeting materials, drafting reports, supporting plan development, creating presentations, conducting research, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.Responsibilities:Facilitating meetings with stakeholders and tracking action itemsPreparing agendas, meeting materials, and summariesOrganizing and documenting outcomes of meetings and working groupsDrafting reports and documents on homeland security topicsSupporting the development of project work plansCreating presentations and briefing documentsResearching and providing information on technical mattersAssisting in policy matters and data visualizationMaintaining positive relationships with coworkers and stakeholdersManaging technical problems and assisting in hosting eventsAttending conferences and training sessionsMinimum Requirements:Planner II:
Bachelor’s degree with two years of office experiencePlanner III:
Bachelor’s degree with three years of work experience in homeland security or related fieldPlanner IV:
Bachelor’s degree with five years of professional experience in emergency management or related fieldsSupervisory Responsibilities:
Planner IV may include supervision of staff or project management.Communication Skills:
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.Critical Thinking/Reasoning Ability:
Working knowledge of homeland security principles and ability to analyze technical documents.Computer Knowledge and Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InDesign.Quality of Work/Organization:
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate files.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Professional certification considered.Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, use hands, and occasionally operate a motor vehicle.Work Environment:
