The

Ortho Trauma General Surgery Unit

is a 32-bed acute care surgical inpatient unit with telemetry monitoring that provides care to primarily orthopedic, ortho-spine, trauma, and general surgery patients. Common diagnoses and surgical procedures include the following: open reductions, external fixation applications, intermedullary nail insertions, joint replacements, laminectomies, spinal fusions, post-motor vehicle accident with multiple trauma, post-violent crimes, spinal cord tumors, small bowel obstructions, and abscess irrigation and debridement. Most patients admitted are transferred from intensive care units, post-anesthesia care units, and the emergency room.

This is a fast-paced environment rich with many opportunities for learning. It uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that promotes teamwork between physicians, nursing staff, care management, therapy, and a variety of other disciplines to provide the most comprehensive care to their patients. This unit's powerful teamwork is the drive for its safe, patient-centered care and healthy work environment that allows for the staff to thrive and grow both personally and professionally.

All New Graduate RNs will be automatically enrolled in our yearlong accredited Nurse Residency Program to facilitate your successful transition into professional nursing practice.

Qualifications:

Associate degree from Accredited Nursing Program required. BSN/MSN matriculation required within 1 year of hire and completion of degree within 5 years of hire.
