You will be an integral part of Impact’s business operations team, with a focus on managing general accounting and financial processes for our company. Candidates must have technical skills and will be expected to contribute right away.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and update accounting records and filesEnsure transactions are being posted to the correct projectsExamine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns, including both sales and income tax in multiple states.Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)Reconcile bank statementsSupport month-end and year-end closuresPrepare documents for auditsApply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulationsProviding project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.Assisting the accounting manager as needed.Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processesRequirementsHave 3-5 years of accounting experienceKnowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and proceduresKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheetsKnowledge of an accounting information systemsKnowledge of Sales tax compliance software, i.e. Avalara is a plusGood math skillsHigh degree of attention to detail and multi-taskingStrong organizational and communication skillsConfidentiality and integrityBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, business accounting, or financeBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) plan with 3% company contributionProfit sharing plan4 weeks of PTO6 paid holidaysMonthly phone allowancePhysical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.This is a full-time job working in an office Monday through Friday.
