Staff Accountant Responsibilities:Process accounts payable from invoice entry through check-cuttingA/R - billing of customer invoices and collection of customer paymentsJob Costing for Government ContractsDaily accounting for all cash depositsMonthly Bank ReconciliationsProcess payroll and entering payroll journal entry and update vacation balancesGeneral ledger account reconciliations at an advanced levelAssist with preparing financials and updating forecast schedulesClosing Process/CycleMastering budgeting and forecasting process including identifying areas of concern (e.g. indirect tab; variances)Financial Reporting, as neededWorking knowledge of indirect rates and basic pricing skillsOrganize and maintain all vendor and accounting recordsPrepare and update spreadsheets weeklyResearch items; handle inquiries and information requestsMonitors cash flow in accordance with client needsResponsible for meeting deliverables and client satisfaction for assigned clientsSupport assigned clients with cost-effective, accurate, and compliant accounting servicesAble to mentor and train junior accountantsTasking and deliverables handled with some direct supervisionQualifications:4-6 years of progressive accounting experience required ("full-cycle" A/P, A/R-Billing, Job Cost Accounting, financial statements, bank reconciliations, and monthly closing)Proficiency with general ledger, job costing, GAAP compliance a mustHighly organized. Tedious about record-keeping, file organization, etc.Able to handle competing deliverables with various levels of complexityExcellent communication and customer service skillsExtremely computer literate, strong MS Excel, and MS Word skills are a mustUnderstanding of Government contracting including familiarity with the FAR, DCAA compliance, and indirect rate structuresMotivated - A self-starter with the ability to multi-task, problem solves, and takes initiativeStrong working knowledge of accounting software, as requiredUS Citizenship required to be eligible for security clearance to support cleared clients
