Century Group has partnered with a leading construction firm based in Cherry Creek. Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our construction projects and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $65,000 to $80,000 per year.

Responsibilities

General Accounting: Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.Project Costing: Collaborate with project managers to track and analyze project costs, expenses, and budget variances to ensure projects are completed within budgetary guidelines.Payroll Processing: Process and reconcile employee timesheets, ensure accurate labor cost allocation to construction projects, and collaborate with HR to address payroll-related inquiries.Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review, highlighting key financial metrics and performance indicators.Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management and identify any discrepancies promptly.Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, use tax, and property tax, while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, process payments, and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.Cost Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify areas for cost optimization, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements within the construction projects.Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and resolving audit inquiries.Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards in the construction industry.Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.2+ years of experience in construction accounting or related field.Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and construction accounting practices.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Construction Staff Accountant to contribute to the financial success of our construction projects and grow their career within a dynamic and reputable company based in Cherry Creek.
