LHH is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client’s dynamic team in Ventura. In this role, you will be essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, coupled with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and post journal entries to record financial transactions in a timely manner.Review supporting documentation to ensure transactions are properly authorized, accurate, and complete.Maintain a thorough understanding of liabilities, including accounts payable, accruals, and deferred revenue, ensuring these are accurately recorded and reported in the financial statements.Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual P+L statements, identifying and investigating any significant fluctuations or anomalies.Participate in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, financial report preparation, and meeting deadlines.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies or issues that may arise during the month-end process.Prepare and file sales and payroll tax returns in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Reconcile tax accounts, research tax-related issues, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to work independently and effectively manage deadlines.
Pay Details:
$31.25 to $33.65 per hour
