Campus Police Officer (NE S Teamsters 117 UWPO)The University of Washington Police Department (UWPD) is responsible for law enforcement matters on the Seattle Campus, providing community-oriented law enforcement services, enforcing laws, and ensuring safety and security. Police Officers patrol, respond to calls, conduct investigations, make arrests, and provide security at events.Duties and Responsibilities include:Patrol designated area to enforce rules and regulationsInspect buildings and groundsRegulate traffic, investigate incidents, issue citations, gather evidenceDisperse illegal gatherings, respond to campus demonstrationsMaintain surveillance for criminal activityArrest suspects, assist other law enforcement agenciesSpecialty positions include Detective Unit, Community Engagement Unit, Bicycle Officers, Field Training Officers, and Dignitary Protection assignments.Shifts:
Varying shifts including weekends.Requirements include:High school graduation or equivalentAt least 21 years old upon Police Academy completionValid Washington State driver's licenseNo felony convictionsCollege education in police science or related field or police/security experienceU.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residentBachelor's degree preferredFluency in other languages a plusConditions of Employment:
24/7 availability, flexible scheduling, potential for overtime.Application Process:
