We have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Technician in Seattle, WA.What you will do:The Environmental Technician will provide support on long-term monitoring and remediation at various Navy bases in the Puget Sound region and Alaska.Specific responsibilities include:Follow project plans to conduct tests and field investigations.Obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in water and soil.Conduct field sampling for a variety of environmental media including groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil.Prepare samples for shipping, coordinate with laboratories, and prepare field reports for review.Document and record field data and observations.Maintain and review institutional controls at project sites that include:

Land use inspections.Inspections of impervious covers, drainages, vegetated areas, fencing, signage, and shoreline condition.

What you will need:B.S. or A.A. degree in environmental science, or related field.1-2 years’ experience in the environmental industry.Effective communication (written and verbal) skills.Ability to work as a team member across technical disciplines.Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly are critical.Comfortability working in both an office, field, and industrial environment.Ability to lift up to fifty pounds frequently and stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day.Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training, 30-hour OSHA Construction training, and First Aid/CPR certifications are a plus but not required prior to hire.Valid driver’s license.U.S. citizen with the ability to receive clearance at U.S. Military Installations.Anticipated salary range is $68,000 to $75,000 per year.
