Job Description And ResponsibilitiesMarket Data Framework Reference data system is used as a repository for composite data received from various suppliers related to securities, prices, FX rates, cross reference, corporate actions, and various other aspects. As a lead developer of the MDF team, Resource will be responsible to own and maintain daily BAU activities and participate in production support. The data managed in this system provides direct and critical input for the portfolio construction process, Trading, compliance systems, Recording keeping systems, Performance, and various other critical systems of State Street global advisors. At the core of the system is a combination of technologies used like Market EDM, Java, JMS, Sybase SP’s, Exadata, shell scripts, Python, and various other technologies. It is a highly specialized information technology platform to process composite data and provide APIs, web interface using J2EE technologies. He/she is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the data in Market Data Framework platform, as the majority of decisions are determined by the security set up within MDF for the downstream applications. It is vital to be proficient and independently solving production issues. This resource will be fully responsible for all the technical aspects of the application.Specific duties of the Software Engineering & Development position include:Be able to design, develop, and document complex data workflow in a hands-on fashion.Possesses very good technical skill and expertise in relation to building complex investment data management systems.Support and enhance the technical infrastructure and functionality of Market Data Framework reference data platform.Possess a good understanding of the investment management industry, related to securities data (Bloomberg, Reuters, Citi, JPM, etc).Required to work independently on issues with incomplete problem definition and requirements.Work with different teams onshore and offshore to develop and implement the overall concepts of the project.Should have experience with market data vendor feeds.Work with the MDS team to deliver key initiatives.Employ his/her experience with Agile SDLC, specifically iteration through problem definition and requirements.Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, and/or activities.Provide production support of the Reference data systems.Expertise in Markit EDM / ETL platform, Java, Sybase, and Oracle is a must.Good to have Market EDM experience and Unix/Perl shell scripting.Skills8+ years of related experience must include:2 to 3 years of Markit EDM experience preferred or comparable ETL platform with hands-on experience.2 to 3 years Strong (Sybase and Oracle database skills. Should be proficient in writing large and complex stored procedures.2 years of J2EE (Java, JavaScript, JSP, HTML5, CSS, Struts, and Spring MVC frameworks) experience is required.Experience with core Java, Spring framework, Struts, and Hibernate.Experience with Jboss, 7.x and Apache web server.3+ years of experience with or knowledge of Advanced SQL development in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase.3 years of shell scripting.Demonstrate ability to own and drive tasks/assignments while collaborating with peers and other Technology teams.Demonstrate ability to learn new business concepts and technologies quickly is a plus.Track record of persistence and an ability to innovate and get things done.Should work independently and help the junior team members.Good to have cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, and other cloud-related technologies.Note: No visa sponsorship is available for this position.Salary Range$120,000 - $202,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
