CBS2/KCAL9 is looking for a Technician (Production Support) for the Los Angeles Duopoly. The Production Tech role is responsible for working with editorial staff and field crews in acquiring, routing, and operating equipment to acquire live signals. Editing video using nonlinear editing equipment for the newscast and supporting the technical needs of the Production Control Room and Studio.JOB FUNCTION:Duties include acquiring and routing RF and bonded cellular signals with the ability to multi-task under deadlines. Edit video including Vo, Sots, PKG’s, Knowledge of Edius and Grass Valley systems a plus. Studio support includes assisting guests with microphones, running handheld cameras, and assisting producers with technical needs.Safely operate news-gathering equipment from TOC roomKnowledge of Cellular Bonding systems (Dejero, LiveU)Schedule and record live feedsEdit contents quickly and accuratelySound technical decisionsSupport Studio and Production Control RoomREQUIRED:Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentWork alone or in a room with team.Strong work ethic & leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities is a must.Excellent people and communication skillsGood conflict-resolution and problem-solving skillsOther duties as assignedHiring Salary Range: $50,889.00 - 115,166.00.The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
