Staff Accountant Job PurposeReporting to the VP of Accounting and Finance, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, maintaining the general ledger, and financial reporting. As a Staff Accountant, you will work with a team that operates in a fast-paced environment. You will have the opportunity to be a part of the company's growth while further developing your accounting skills.
Staff Accountant Job DutiesResponsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close items.Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.Complete balance sheet reconciliations.Perform general bookkeeping and organize financial forms, documents, and receipts.Resolve errors in financial reports and correct faulty reporting methods.Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.Ensure all accounting tasks and financial records comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Staff Accountant Skills And QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting and 3-5 years working in an accounting role.Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively.Ability to maintain the confidentiality of company and client information.Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry skills.High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills.Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Robust experience with QuickBooks.Strong bookkeeping skills.Strong written and oral communication skills.While this is a remote position, the preferred locations are Fort Lauderdale, Miami, West Palm Beach, Tucson, AZ, and Minneapolis, MN.
