Position Overview

As an Industrial Programmer, the general role is to provide turn-key automated solutions specializing in PLC Programming, Human Machine Interface (HMI) Development, Software installations, with minimal electrical work. This position is expected to complete difficult troubleshooting for customers with some direction from Sr. and lead level personnel.

The Industrial Programmer will report to the Automation Manager and will work primarily out of the Morgantown location.

What You'll Do

Provide technical support and onsite troubleshooting and repair for customersSupport commissioning efforts for new projects and systems onsite at customer facilitiesResolve operational problems related to current systems or new projectsEnsure all relevant safety objectives are observed for all work completedSupport manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFD's, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integrationCreate customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawingsMaintain accurate records and files according to quality standards and customer requirementsModifies systems upon customer's request and documents the amendments accordinglyWorking Conditions

Valid driver's licenseBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience3+ years of experience in process control and automationFamiliar with reading and creating CAD drawings using AutoCAD ElectricalStrong working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000,500Working experience and knowledge with HMI / OIT Development using Rockwell and/or Wonderware software platformsEfficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goalsCritical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environmentsProactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environmentAbility to balance multiple projectsWorking knowledge of MS Office productivity softwareGood understanding of mechanical principals is a plusPreferred if candidate has 80-hour underground certification within the first 6 months of employmentTravel as required (25-50% at times) to support projects.
