Education/Certification and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.One (1) year permanent employment in Nutrition, Alief ISDServed as Satellite Cashier five (5) months successfullyRecommendation from manager and supervisorFood Service Manager’s Certification, State of Texas or ANSI accreditedORHigh School diploma or GEDDemonstrate competency as a Satellite Cashier before progressing to the MIT program (depending on previous experience)Five (5) years food service experience with at least two (2) years in management, State of Texas or ANSI accredited preferredORBachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Restaurant Management, or a related fieldRecent experience in high volume feeding with at least two (2) years in management from accredited institution with State of Texas or ANSI accredited school food service management preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Good personal appearance and cleanliness and being computer literateBasic math skills – computation in addition, multiplication and fractionsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Assume responsibilities assigned by the manager for daily operation of facility.Complete the MIT Program within three (3) months. MIT must successfully complete program to be considered for a position in management. Will be responsible for certain aspects of: Total food preparation; food preparation for satellite kitchens; purchasing; line service and cashiering; Federal Breakfast/Lunch Program; safety/sanitation; equipment; personnel and personnel training; and special functions.Maintain the highest standards of safety, sanitation and food quality.Follow district and departmental policies and procedures as outlined in employee handbook.Work in various locations throughout training, as needed.OtherMust obtain minimum required annual Professional Standard training hours, per USDA regulations.Must attend required training, in-service and work related activities.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.Perform other duties assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Manual Trades - Nutrition Personnel.Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used:

Occasional sitting; frequent bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; frequently standing, walking, reaching, wrist turning, grasping, and finger manipulating, and squatting; and must be able to use a step ladder, sweep, mop, and clean equipment.Motion:
Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent reachingVision and Hearing : Moderate to MaximumLifting:
Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds), if over 20 pounds, must use cart and ask for assistanceEnvironment:
