Clinical Lab Assistant - Core LaboratorySwing ShiftAbout the Role:The Clinical Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision, reporting to a Laboratory Supervisor or Manager. Responsibilities include receiving, accessioning, centrifuging, and decanting patient specimens, as well as communicating with clinicians.Key Responsibilities:Visitor Interaction : Greets and assists visitors at the Front Window.Sample ManagementReception : Sorts, prioritizes, and receives patient specimens.Accessioning : Enters patient information accurately into the computer and labels specimens.Processing : Operates automated sample processing instrumentation and transfers samples.Communication : Responds to telephone inquiries and processes add-on requests.Documentation : Faxes reports, sorts, and files requisitions, and follows department protocols.Safety and Cleanliness : Maintains a safe and clean working environment.Qualifications:Education : High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience : Previous laboratory, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.Skills:

Interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction.Ability to multitask and work accurately under stress.Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and visual accuracy.Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows.English language proficiency for communication.
