Research Assistant-Paraprofessional (Washington DC)
Position Title : Research Assistant - ParaprofessionalPosition Summary : The Research Assistant - Paraprofessional will work within a Multidisciplinary Team to assist assigned students with all aspects of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) daily. The student population is primarily non-verbal and non-ambulatory, requiring support throughout academic and therapy sessions, repositioning, transfers, and self-care assistance. Additionally, involvement in research efforts is crucial. Desired attributes include a background in neuroscience, psychology, social work, nursing, or pre-medicine, strategic focus, leadership skills, effective communication, and accountability.Works under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Special Education and Associate Paraprofessional Special Education Director.Collaborates with the student's Multidisciplinary Team to achieve IEP goals.Supports students inside and outside the classroom, assisting in activities and academic sessions.Attends to students' emotional, physical, and personal needs.Assists during Aquatic Therapy sessions.Participates in data collection and analysis for IEP goals.Attends group meetings and internal seminars.Performs other duties as assigned by the Multidisciplinary Team.Assists in organizing equipment and supplies.Required to check and respond to emails promptly.Assists during free time and related service sessions.Supports students during various activities.Helps prepare and organize instructional materials.Must be able to lift, transfer, and support students during sessions.Research DutiesPrepares and submits wellness reports daily.Collaborates with the nurse on specific reports.Participates in Grand Rounds activities.Attends iBRAIN Research meetings.Understands student's IEP and formulates research questions.Completes required training modules.QualificationsBachelor's degree in neuroscience, psychology, social work, nursing, pre-medicine, or related field.Excellent communication skills.Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds independently.Detail-oriented, focused, highly motivated, and team-oriented.Other RequirementsStrong intrapersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Passion for iBRAIN's mission and commitment to quality.Fluency in Spanish is a plus.Must have a sense of humor.Health insurance, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, Paid time offHours : Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Salary Range : $40,000 to $50,000Reports to : Deputy Director of Special EducationJob Type : Full-time; In-personLocation(s) : Washington, D.C.; iBRAIN-Academy campusPlease note this position adheres to iBRAIN-Academy’s calendar.Note:
