CASA & CASA IN ACTION SYNOPSIS:

Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Georgia, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. A set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, shares their time between the two organizations. This has no effect on salary or benefits.

DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:

The Elections Department oversees the elections, nonpartisan voter accountability advocacy, and voter registration across our four states. The department is tasked with developing and implementing voter engagement strategies in partnership with all departments to build long-term electoral power in Black and brown immigrant and working-class communities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Canvass Operation Manager is responsible for developing and implementing robust voter engagement programs and managing daily field operations. These programs prioritize a people-powered approach to maximize the voting power of eligible immigrants, youth, and working-class Black, Indigenous, and People of Color voters. Functions include strategic planning, operational implementation, data management, electoral training, and cross-departmental collaboration.

This temporary, full-time position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and reports to the Deputy Voter Engagement Director. It requires field-based work 70% of the time during program implementation.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about organizing and empowering teams and developing electoral campaigns centered around grassroots organizing and political power-building. They are a proven leader and outstanding networker who has demonstrated a deep commitment to racial equity and is knowledgeable on best practices for direct voter engagement work.

Additionally, they will work directly with state table partners, community leaders, members, and registered voters to increase voter participation and bring about real people-powered political movements. The ideal candidate is committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing input or quality and has a proven ability to build high-performing teams in our field and cultivate talented team members.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Development and ImplementationRecruits, hires, trains, and manages a team of skilled field coordinators and canvassers to meet program goals.Manages daily field operation activities, assists field coordinators with canvass launches, ensures that the field team has adequate canvassing equipment and supplies, and reviews programs’ progress with them during canvass debriefsManages Daily operation activities: Prepare turfs, ensure coordinators have adequate canvass equipment, and review the program’s progress.Supports coordinators through daily check-ins, attends canvass launches and debriefs, provides constructive feedback on performance, and assists with canvassing coaching.Other duties assigned by the supervisor related to the positionData Management and Program Evaluation

Manage all program platforms, including VAN, ThruTalk, and ThruText, and maintain high-quality data integrity.Implement quality management standards and systems for monitoring, reporting, and evaluating collected data to ensure the highest quality and integrity across the program.Prepare weekly member pipeline and end-of-program reports using both qualitative and quantitative data to highlight clear and useful results findings.State Partner Coordination and Cross-Organizational Collaboration

Coordinate structured field events, including member engagement and general volunteer events, focusing on voter outreach development; Lead volunteer recruitment efforts for all planned events.EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

Two (2) to four (4) years of experience combined in either grassroots organizing, voter registration, or electoral campaign workValid US Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle, and automobile insuranceBachelor’s degree or relevant job experience, a plusKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Deep commitment to social change and to growing CASA and CASA in Action as membership organizations in which members have decision-making authority.Experience working with immigrant, working-class, and historically marginalized communitiesExperience working with a non-partisan voter engagement, independent expenditure, coordinated candidate campaign, or candidate campaignExperience working with the voter file database, VANExperience working with data visualization and tabulation tools (Excel and/or Google Sheets).Excellent written & interpersonal communication skills.Proven track record of meeting deadlines and deliverables with quick turnaroundsThrives in a campaign-style environment with “rapid-fire” deadlines and responses.Self-motivated with a track record of displaying leadership and building team morale.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Previous management experience preferredBilingual English/Spanish preferred.Must be comfortable driving passengers in a van and/or occasionally driving community members in personal vehicles.Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Early morning, late evening and weekend hours are typical.
