The department is tasked with developing and implementing voter engagement strategies in partnership with all departments to build long-term electoral power in working-class: Black, Latino/a/e, Afro-descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant communities.POSITION SUMMARY:CASA/CASA in Action seeks a proactive, well-organized, empowering individual to develop and implement robust voter engagement programs. The Voter Engagement Manager will work with the Deputy Voter Engagement Director to manage day-to-day field operations, assist with strategic planning, and lead the execution of voter engagement campaigns in Georgia and Virginia. These campaigns prioritize a people-powered approach to maximize the voting power of working-class: Black, Latino/a/e, Afro-descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant communities. Functions include strategic planning, data management, electoral training, and cross-departmental collaboration.This full-time position, based in Georgia and Virginia, reports to the Deputy Voter Engagement Director and requires field-based work 70% of the time during program implementation.The ideal candidate will be passionate about organizing and empowering teams and developing electoral campaigns centered around grassroots organizing and political power building. They are a proven leader and outstanding networker who has demonstrated a deep commitment to racial equity and is knowledgeable about best practices for direct voter engagement work.Additionally, they will work directly with state table partners, community leaders, members, and registered voters to increase voter participation and bring about real people-powered political movements. The ideal candidate is committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing input or quality and has a proven ability to build high-performing teams in our field and cultivate talented team members.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Program Development and ImplementationDevelop field operation strategic plans and timelines for voter registration, voter mobilization, and nonpartisan voter accountability advocacy campaigns in Georgia and Virginia.Collaborate with the Deputy Voter Engagement Director and Electoral Programs Director to design an evidence-based field training curriculum using the latest research that builds knowledge of movement politics, voting and elections, and voter engagement best practices.Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of skilled field coordinators and canvassers to meet program goals.Manage daily field operation activities, assist field coordinators with canvass launches, ensure that the field team has adequate canvassing equipment and supplies, and review programs’ progress with them during canvass debriefs.Other duties assigned by the supervisor related to the position.Data Management and Program EvaluationAssist Deputy Voter Engagement Director and Electoral Programs Director with managing all program platforms, including SmartVAN/AV VAN and CallHub, and maintaining high-quality data integrity.Recruit, hire, train, and manage Quality Management Coordinator during program execution to implement quality control standards and systems for monitoring, reporting, and evaluating collected data to ensure the highest quality and integrity across all programs.Evaluate the effectiveness of all field operations work at the end of each campaign.Prepare reports, presentations, and other print and electronic products using qualitative and quantitative data to highlight clear and valuable results/findings.Think creatively about ways to improve their specific job and the organization further.State Partner Coordination and Cross-Organizational CollaborationCoordinate structured field events, including candidate, member engagement, and general volunteer events, focusing on voter outreach and political leadership development; Lead volunteer recruitment efforts for all planned events.Represent our family of organizations at state civic engagement table meetings.Connect and build relationships with other civic engagement managers at partner organizations and candidate campaigns.Coordinate turf allocation and negotiation with state table staff and partner organizations.EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:Two (2) to four (4) years of experience combined in either grassroots organizing, community engagement, voter registration, or electoral campaign work.Valid US Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle and automobile insurance.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Deep commitment to social change and to growing CASA and CASA in Action as membership organizations in which members have decision-making authority.Experience working with immigrant, working-class, and historically marginalized communities.Experience working with an independent expenditure, coordinated candidate campaign, or candidate campaign.Excellent writing and speaking skills.Proficiency in managing campaign data and administering VAN across multiple states.Proven track record of meeting deadlines and deliverables with quick turnarounds.Highly organized and able to manage multiple ongoing projects. The position requires strong attention to detail.Self-motivated with a track record of displaying leadership and building team morale.Strong interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.Ability to connect with various elected, administrative, organizational, and grassroots leaders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Previous management experience is a plus.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
