The Staff Accountant at Motive works under the supervision of the Director of Finance. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; assisting in the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts; and performing general bookkeeping. The Staff Accountant will also support other Finance team members in daily tasks that may include - but not limited to – accounts payable, expense reports, revenue recognition, tax filings, and audit requests.Key Responsibilities Include the Following:

Perform month-end close duties, including reconcile balance sheet accounts, review of general ledger accounts, and prepare closing journal entries and financial statements.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including monthly financial and cash flow forecasts for our parent company.Create annual budgets for each fiscal year.Support external financial audits by working with internal team at parent company.Participate in weekly check runs by inputting vendor payment information in the bank.Provide financial support to the content production studio, including proper set up of projects, review of project estimates, and reconciliation of job costs.Prepare ad hoc reporting and perform special projects as needed.Maintain and enhance the company's established accounting processes, as well as assist in expanding the company's utilization of its current operating system to streamline those processes.Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting, is required.2+ years of full cycle accounting experience.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.Detail oriented and highly organized.Strong organizational and time management skills.Collaborative and imaginative approach to problem-solving.Commitment to handling sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism.Motive is an equal opportunity employer!
