Job Description

A postdoctoral fellow position, funded by NIH, is currently available at the Wilmer Eye Institute in the Laboratory of Dr. Carlo Iomini at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Our team focuses on understanding the fundamental mechanisms that underlie the development, homeostasis, and diseases related to the anterior segment and ocular surface of the mammalian eye. We use mouse genetics, advanced microscopy, genomics (Single-Cell RNA-seq), and biochemistry to study the signal transduction pathways altered in anterior segment dysgenesis and dry eye disease.

We seek a driven Postdoctoral Fellow to join our vibrant team within the Wilmer Eye Institute, a cutting-edge working environment voted the #1 Best Overall and Research ophthalmology program in the country. This fully and stably funded position presents a unique opportunity to uncover the fundamental mechanisms of diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, encompassing anterior segment dysgenesis, glaucoma, myopia, and dry eye disease.

The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, collaborative, and capable of working independently, with a proven track record of proficiency in experimental design and analysis, manuscript writing, and project management. To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent in a related field, such as developmental, cell, and molecular biology, omics, microscopy, or any other related discipline. The ideal candidate must also be comfortable working with mice and other rodents.
