POSITION OVERVIEWWe currently have an opening for a full-time Addictions Counselor at our primary Portland location. The Addictions Counselor provides professional treatment for clients with mental health and substance use disorders in our Residential Program. Responsibilities include managing a client caseload, assessing clients' needs, treatment planning, and providing counseling.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:Candidates must be familiar with strength-based counseling, dual diagnosis, and motivational interviewingCurrent CADC I certification is requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamProficient in Microsoft applications and electronic health records systemsEffective communication skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of addictive thinking, psychopharmacology, and substance use disordersDemonstrated ability in treatment planning, group facilitation, and crisis managementKnowledge of 12-step recovery principlesOTHER REQUIREMENTSMinimum of two years' continuous sobriety for individuals with a history of substance use disorderSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug and Tuberculin testsDHS criminal background approvalWORKING CONDITIONSIndoor office environment with occasional travelPossible exposure to communicable diseases and emotionally distressed individualsHOURS AND PAYFull-time position, $25.41-34.43 per hour, non-exempt with overtime eligibility.
