Staff AccountantUnder the Controller's overarching guidance, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the daily/monthly activities associated with the general ledger (journal entries, reconciliations), accounts payable duties, financial reporting and accuracy, and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will work closely with other accounting team members within the shared services group and various departments to support the overall financial objectives of the organization.

Essential Duties:

Prepare/enter journal entries.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Accounts payable tasks including invoice entry, three-way-match, account reconciliations.

Assist with monthly/quarterly/annual financial close processes.

Support internal and external audit by providing requesting documentation timely.

Assist with expense report tracking, reconciliations, and SPI compliance.

Assist with inventory management.

A comprehensive grasp of navigating ERP systems and their transaction processes is essential. The candidate should possess the ability to troubleshoot transaction-related issues effectively.

Maintain generally accepted accounting standards and procedures in accordance with Marmon Group policies and guidelines.

Support activities within compliance with ISO Quality System procedures.

Support and participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work as a team with peers, supervisors, managers, and Marmon IEI employees.

Minimum Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

2+ years of accounting experience

Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in work product

Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

Office environment with regular working hours, typically Monday to Friday

Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.

Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month-end close, audit preparations).

Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.

Ability to work in high temperatures.

Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.

Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
