The Tax Department provides tax consulting and planning services related to our client’s diversified holdings including investments in privately held operating companies, real estate, investment funds, and publicly traded securities. This department is seeking a Senior Tax Advisor/Manager who will report directly to a Tax Director.Responsibilities
:Conduct tax research, planning, complex excel analysis for major transactions including new entity formation, ownership change transactions (recapitalizations, redemptions, etc.), acquisitions and dispositionsServe as a resource of technical knowledge for internal tax return preparers and to other departments requesting assistance on tax and business mattersAnalyze the impact of tax legislation and communicate the potential impact to company managementConduct tax research and prepare technical tax memorandums to determine and document tax return filing positionsEnsure the proper implementation of conclusions reached during tax planningReview of operating and trust agreementsInteract with outside professional advisorsRepresent taxpayers in IRS examinationsQualifications
:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; MST or advanced degree, or desire to pursue such degreeCPA licenseAt least ten years of professional experience with a public accounting firm, privately held company, or family officeWell-organized, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working on a broad range of tax mattersSelf-motivated, desire and capacity to learn new and complex areas of taxationExcellent research, written and oral communication, problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to communicate technical information in a non-technical mannerStrong knowledge of online tax research tools (RIA Checkpoint, BNA Portfolios, etc.) and Microsoft Office productsPreferred Experience
Real Estate and Holding CompaniesExperience with complex tax issues of pass-through entities, especially tiered partnership structures and holding companies
