POSITION TITLE: ERM & Compliance Project Manager
PAY GRADE: 13
DEPARTMENT: Major Projects Team

PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to fulfill our vision of inspiring financial wellness. The position must deliver high quality service to both internal and external members by supporting and promoting our values to Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.
This position will execute company-wide credit union projects including system conversions and mergers. The ERM/Compliance Specialist will work closely with the other Major Projects Team members and staff throughout the credit union.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Acts as the compliance and ERM expert for the Major Projects Team.
Compiles and submits the regulatory application and serves as the regulatory contact for mergers.
Responsible for completing all risk management and compliance facets of merger due diligence, including vendor and contract management, policy reviews, pending litigation and contingent liability analysis, review of regulatory exams and audits, etc.
Ensures process and system changes are in alignment with regulatory compliance requirements and risk mitigation. Helps develop process and procedures to minimize risk.
Completes process risk assessments in alignment with credit union standards on any new processes introduced through the Major Projects Team.
Leads request for proposals, completes vendor risk assessments and contract reviews for any vendor relationships established through the Major Projects Team.
Coordinate with ERM/Compliance teams to ensure major projects are implemented in sync with standard processes.
Creates and updates disclosures as needed for Major Projects Team initiatives

REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk, or a related field is preferred.
3 years experience with Credit Unions, Financial Institutions or Financial Industry; able to incorporate consumer needs and objectives into business considerations.
Lean Six Sigma or similar certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first year.
Must be proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Must become proficient in credit union systems (Corelation Keystone, Meridian Link, ERM software) within 6 months in the position
Must be self-motivated with exceptional time management, organization skills and attention to detail.
Must have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills; to solve problems as they occur and escalate as needed.
Must possess excellent interpersonal relationship skills, ability to motivate and direct work through the efforts of others, discuss problems and solutions with all levels of staff and management and be approachable to the team.
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication.
Must have or obtain credit union compliance certification within first year.

Physical Requirements
Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
