Background:

West Edge Partners (“WEP”) is a private equity firm focused on investing in business and consumer services, distribution and light manufacturing businesses in the lower middle market. The firm supports its partners through a value-added approach and looks to invest in both organic and inorganic growth initiatives. West Edge is Southern California based with offices in both Los Angeles, CA and Philadelphia, PA.

Position Description:

As an Associate based in Los Angeles, you will play a pivotal role on our investment team, contributing to the identification, evaluation, and management of investment opportunities. You will work closely with senior team members to conduct thorough due diligence, analyze financial data, and help drive investment decisions. You will also work closely with our portfolio companies, not only monitoring performance, but also participating in critical value creation initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the private equity industry and contribute to the growth and success of our firm.

Major Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial analysis, market research, competitive analysis, and risk assessments.

Create and maintain complex financial models to evaluate potential investments, including cash flow projections, valuation analysis, and sensitivity analysis.

Participate in the coordination of all parties involved in prospective deal opportunities (e.g. brokers, legal counsel, third-party diligence providers, co-investors and internal operations).

Prepare and review investment memorandums, deal bid letters and investment analyses for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in the maintenance of a database of firm’s relationships with deal sources and service providers.

Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to monitor performance, implement value-enhancing initiatives, and track key performance indicators.

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual investor reports, as well as other ad-hoc reports and analyses as required.

Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills

Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and capital structures

Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to comfortably interact with senior management (internal & external)

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements:

Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

Strong academic credentials and achievement

2 – 5 years of relevant experience

Strong M&A and deal execution experience from an investment bank, accounting firm (preferably transaction advisory experience) or private equity firm

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
