Director of Surgical Services

Salary Range:

$134,659 - $161,574 annually

Schedule:

Full-time, 36 hours per week, Variable Shifts

Job Overview:

We seek a visionary and dynamic Director of Surgical Services to lead our high-performing perioperative team. The Director is responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, and clinical management of the surgical services department on a 24/7 basis, ensuring excellence in patient care and optimizing service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and quality of care in the surgical services department.Lead and manage the surgical team, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and patient-centered care.Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and hospital policies, particularly in areas of patient and environmental safety.Actively engage in the recruitment, training, and professional development of staff, promoting a pathway for future leadership.Manage department budgets and financial resources efficiently, including capital equipment planning and procurement.Participate in hospital-wide committees, contributing to the broader organizational goals and initiatives.Drive quality assurance and performance improvement efforts, monitoring key performance indicators to achieve optimal outcomes.Maintain effective communication across all levels of hospital staff and with external stakeholders to ensure coordinated care and resource optimization.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Nursing is required; Masters degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.Minimum of 3+ years of experience in surgical services leadership, demonstrating a track record of operational excellence and team leadership.Current registered nurse license in the state of Florida, or eligibility to obtain.Certifications such as Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) and Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) are highly preferred.Proven ability to manage complex team dynamics and navigate fast-paced, high-pressure environments.Strong fiscal acumen, with experience managing departmental budgets and financial resources.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, capable of leading diverse teams and engaging with a range of clinical professionals.
