Worship and Communications Director -
Vineyard Church of Elgin
Overview: Vineyard Church of Elgin is seeking a dedicated and experienced Worship and Communications Director to join the team. This individual will be responsible for leading the worship ministry and overseeing all church communications. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for Jesus and the Church, a musical gifting and heart for worship, strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communications and technological skills, and the ability to shepherd the worship team members. The applicant would be expected to participate actively in church life, engage in church events, and assist in pastoral care as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
Plan, coordinate, and lead Sunday worship services and worship-related events which cultivate the presence of God, in collaboration with Lead Pastor and other staff members
Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members (vocalists and instrumentalists)
Oversee management of tech team
Communications Management
Manage the voice and branding of the church in alignment with the church’s mission and vision
Oversee/create all internal and external communications, including the weekly e-newsletter, slides, other digital content and print materials
Manage the church's website and app, ensuring the website is up-to-date, user-friendly, and reflective of the church's identity
Qualifications
Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for worship and the Church
Bachelor's degree in Worship Arts, Communications, or a related field preferred
1-3 years of ministry experience in a related role
Ability to lead worship both vocally and instrumentally
Proficiency in the use of worship planning software, audio/visual equipment, and digital communication tools
Excellent verbal, writing and graphic design skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Willingness to invest in the church family and be an active participant in the life of the church
