Monsignor Scanlan High School is seeking a full-time Science teacher for the 2022 - 2023 school year.

The Monsignor Scanlan High School faculty member aids in the formation of a Christian character in his/her students by:

Demonstrating in word and action their belief and love for God.

Demonstrating a deep respect for the dignity of each individual student.

Teaching the student to live tolerantly in a mixed and heterogeneous society.

Teaching and modeling for the students high self-esteem and respect for themselves.

A Monsignor Scanlan High School faculty member strives to become a more competent teacher and to further his/her professional growth by:

Continuing graduate studies at the rate of six (6) credits per year until a Master's Degree is completed, and by attending in-service courses.

Keeping abreast of new developments in his/her teaching field.

Continuously improving his/her classroom techniques.

Communicating his/her enthusiasm for learning to the students.

Developing a sympathetic understanding of youth and their needs.

Observing the directives outlined in the faculty handbook and/or memoranda issued by the administration.

The Monsignor Scanlan High School teacher will see that he/she becomes familiar with the Mission Statement of the school so that, as an integral part of the organization, he/she can make concrete contributions to its well-being by:

Giving full and loyal support to Monsignor Scanlan High School and its policies.

Fulfilling generously the expressed and unspecified duties inherent in the teaching profession.

Striving to enhance the public image of the school.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years teaching experience preferred

New York State certification preferred

Excellent oral and written communication skills
