Scribe Therapeutics is a molecular engineering company focused on creating best-in-class in vivo therapies that permanently treat the underlying cause of disease. We are seeking a highly creative, passionate, and motivated individual to join us in our quest to develop the next generation of CRISPR-based therapeutics. The current role is for an Associate Director/Director, Gene Therapy to join our team and advance our platform. This individual will lead a cross-disciplinary team to identify, evaluate, and validate new therapeutics for highly unmet diseases. The role is integral to an R&D team using CRISPR genetic engineering approaches for lead identification and validation.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be a critical member of Discovery Biology, where you'll play a hands-on role in shaping and executing research strategies for various discovery programs, contributing to clear go/no-go decisions.
Lead, oversee, and empower a team of biology scientists. Clearly define and communicate research objectives, orchestrate key studies, and analyze data.
Collaborate across functions to identify and validate leading candidates from target selection and hit identification to hit-to-lead optimization, drug candidate nomination.
Deliver compelling project updates and present innovative early-stage research ideas to senior research leadership and diverse audiences.
Stay abreast of scientific literature regarding biological targets, modalities, cutting-edge techniques, and model systems.

Effectively collaborate with members within a fully integrated team to facilitate execution on projects within established timelines

Required Skills and Background:
Ph.D. or an equivalent credential in disciplines such as Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Physiology, or a related field, with 10+ years of professional expertise.
Industry acumen and a profound understanding of drug discovery.
Proven track record of guiding innovative research in neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases, substantiated by impactful publications and recognition as an emerging leader in the field.
Proven experience in managing external collaborations
Demonstrated quantitative and scientific thinker as evidenced by a strong publication record
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team
Preferred Skills and Background:
Familiarity with genome engineering techniques such as CRISPR/Cas
Good understanding of pharmacological and quantitative models
Experience in driving programs from conception to IND enabling studies

At the time of posting, the base pay wage range for this role is $170-$225,000 per year. The offered pay range will depend on internal equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, training, and market data.
