DescriptionLifeSource is hiring a Staff Accountant & Analyst to be responsible for ensuring all accounting services and processes including accounts receivable (AR)(Lead), accounts payable (AP), cash receipts, account reconciliation, journal and general ledger, budgeting, accounting reports and fiscal audit are executed with integrity, following accounting control procedures.This will include producing financial and analytic reporting to provide Business Partnership with insights and recommendations for organizational departments regarding budgets, finance, accounting, and audit information to aid in decision-making.The Staff Accountant & Analyst will also provide professional customer service, with knowledge of the organ donation process, to medical professionals, donor families and other stakeholders to resolve inquiries and discrepancies.As a Staff Accountant & Analyst, you’ll advance our life-saving work by performing the following job duties:Analysis of financial information and report development to provide data and insights to drive informed decision-making.Leads the budget reporting process by developing and maintaining comprehensive financial reports, cost center reports, salary reporting utilizing reporting tools Power BI, Velixo, etc.Partners with Data team and Financial Operations leaders to generate reporting and analytics.Supports Sr. Manager of Financial Operations in preparation of monthly financial statements and Medicare Cost Report.Manages accounting software programs, EMR merchant credit card processing terminals and website, acting as subject matter expert on configurations and workflows.Ensures integrity of financial reporting data from Electronic Medical Record System (EMR - True North), Acumatica, and the Organ & Tissue database.Executes appropriate accounting services functions including accounts receivable (AR) and cash receipts (CR) following accounting control procedures.Administration of Accounts Receivable functions invoicing of donor-related activity, outstanding AR balances, AR account reconciliation and monthly close functions.Prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts, and prepares financial statements.Executes proper accounting controls, account reconciliation, assets, journal and general ledger, organization, and maintenance of all accounting records per regulatory and organizational guidelines.Prepares and maintains subledgers, executes special projects, and maintains up to date records and files, including month-end and year end subledger, schedules and general ledger journal entries and reconciliations.Ensures the integrity of all accounting data in accounting system and Organ and Tissue Database financial reporting by following and maintaining accounting control procedures and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Acts as a trusted advisory and strategic partner with responsibility for offering consultation, guidance, and execution of key strategic accounting initiatives by aligning to the vision, strategy, and priorities with LifeSource team members and leadership in designated business units.Partners with leaders to deliver strategic financial insights and recommendations to convey information regarding financial statements, monthly budget results, audit, and accounting information.Assists in developing financial models and forecasting to aid decision-making.Promotes financial awareness throughout the organization, including accounting, budgeting, reporting, and best practices.Maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders and engages in departmental process improvement and innovation initiatives.Analyze, research, and resolve inconsistencies and discrepancies, including reviewing account statements for accuracy, documentation errors or duplications.Execute professional, solution-oriented communication when engaging with hospital representatives, transplant centers, vendors, or donor families regarding billing or invoicing discrepancies to ensure effective and timely customer service and resolution process.Establish general knowledge of the organ, eye, and tissue donation process to respond with care and compassion to financial inquiries.Engages in departmental process improvement and problem solving, including identifying methods of increasing services and decreasing costs.Position RequirementsRequires a combination of education and experience equivalent to 9 years of experience as a Staff Accountant with responsibilities executing AP, AR, Cash Receipt processes, Financial Analysis and/or Business Partnership from accounting and finance perspective.Demonstrated and proven formal and/or informal leadership, mentorship, or coaching capabilities.Advanced computer proficiency especially with Power BI, Velixo, Microsoft Excel, cloud-based HRIS, Merchant credit card, and report development experience preferred.Must have demonstrated ability to drive results to improve processes and outcomes with the use of critical thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities.Must be an organized, detail oriented, self-directed, motivated and collaborative contributor with ability to function autonomously and effectively lead others.Demonstrated ability to foster, promote and sustain cross-departmental collaboration or cross team collaboration.Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, motivate, influence, and achieve cooperation with both internal and external relationships.WORKING CONDITIONS/SCHEDULE1.0 FTE. Primary hours are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.
