The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $71,100 - $151,128/per year. The anticipated hiring range is $133,000 to $137,000/per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.Application Deadline:

While all HRM and OB-related teaching expertise will be considered, expertise in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion or Total Rewards would strongly complement our current faculty’s expertise and interests.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Management with a focus on HRM/OB, Labor Relations, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Sociology or Ethnic Studies with a focus on people in organizations, or other related areas. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025.Demonstrated potential to effectively teach and engage in curriculum development for Human Resource Management and/or Organizational Behavior subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels.Demonstrated potential for successful research, and scholarly and creative activities leading to publications.Demonstrated potential to contribute in service roles to the department, college, university, and community.Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in teaching functional HRM classes with a focus on strategic HRM or specific functional areas such as diversity, equity, and inclusion, total rewards (compensation and benefits), talent acquisition, and training and development.Excellent research pipelines and have published research in journals of recognized quality in the HRM and OB fields.Demonstrate a willingness to develop relationships across the university and surrounding community, through previous volunteer work or service.Experience of successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body.Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom.Duties:Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels including primarily undergraduate courses in human resources and organizational behavior [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof].Contribute to curriculum and program development.Engage in research, scholarly and creative activities leading to conference presentations and publications.Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community.CSULB seeks to recruit faculty who enthusiastically support the University’s strong commitment to the academic success of all of our students, including students of color, students with disabilities, students who are first generation to college, veterans, students with diverse socio-economic backgrounds, and students of diverse sexual orientations and gender expressions.
