About The Role

This position recruits, hires, trains and manages a team of new and existing staff to maximize mortgage loan sales efforts. Responsible for residential loan production goals which include developing and administering all loan programs, supervising the review of the loans for approval, developing policies and procedures to meet regulatory and secondary market requirements and coordinating the training of lending personnel. Assists in advancing the strategic direction of the Credit Union.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of credit union operating procedures, the ability to liaison between multiple credit union departments, is responsive to senior management requirements and operates in prescribed budget. This manager is highly member-focused while insuring that staff consistently provides high levels of member service. Leads strong sales strategy and guides sales initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and directs sales, service and business development activities to achieve targeted results in the categories of mortgage production for investor and portfolio loans.
  • Makes proactive calls to high-value realtors and builders in order to identify potential opportunities for production.
  • Counsels with and assists in the training and development of all subordinates.
  • Actively coaches and models' behaviors concerning sales and services. Uses all sales tools, including profiling of customers' needs through the use of various technologies and sales coaching tools to ensure a consistent and valued member experience.
  • Reviews loan applications from loan originators and inspects documents received to ensure all necessary forms have been completed prior to starting loan packaging procedures.
  • Supervises loan origination assuring compliance with all related laws and regulations.
  • Provides on-the-job training to new employees; explains methods and procedures.
  • Actively participates in the local real estate community by attending real estate board sponsored events and functions.
  • Keeps informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market, as well as changing rules and regulations pertaining to both portfolio and investor mortgages.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related.
  • Three years experience managing mortgage loan sales.
  • History of managing team of 8+ sales people to successful achievement of goals.
  • Required current NMLS license or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • In depth knowledge of mortgage loan processing and sales.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills both written and orally.
  • Ability to interact with staff, members and others effectively.
  • Previous related experience in a financial institution preferred.
  • Knowledge of FNMA and FHLMC service guidelines preferred.


COMPENSATION

  • $140,000-$160,000/year
