Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced
Sr. Director of Campaign and Philanthropic Giving
to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. The role is responsible for fundraising in both Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA), a 501(c)3 charitable organization, and Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County (PPAP), a 501(c)4 advocacy organization. Within PPLA this individual will oversee the management and implementation of a multi-year capital and programmatic fundraising campaign while carrying a portfolio with a focus on maintaining existing funding with an emphasis on sustainable growth to create and maximize opportunities within the six and seven figure revenue streams. Within PPAP, this individual will work alongside the Chief Partnerships Officer (CPO) to build an inclusive strategic fundraising plan. The Sr. Director will bring significant experience leading and managing fundraising teams, with success in guiding them to achieve individual and collective fundraising goals. The position will report to the VP, Development (VP) while working closely with the CPO, CEO, Campaign Leadership, Board of Directors, Campaign Counsel, and other key staff to carry out a broad-based campaign plan.Over one hundred years ago, Planned Parenthood was founded on the idea that everyone should have the information and care they need to live strong, healthy lives and fulfill their dreams. Experience running programmatic and capital fundraising campaigns from multiple donor channels; A minimum of nine (9) years in relevant aspects of fundraising activities (annual, capital, major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundations) with an emphasis on individuals and major donors required.Proven track record of positively influencing both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives and delivering philanthropic growth for mission-based 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations. Experience with the challenges of working across a large organization and broad, diverse network of stakeholders.A minimum of two (2) years fundraising for a political organization required.A minimum of five (5) years managing staff required.5 years experience in planning, leading, and managing development projects, including coordinating with peers to achieve desired outcomes, and tracking and reporting on progress to senior staff and key stakeholders required.Track record of setting strategic direction, establishing ambitious but realistic goals, as well as working across team lines to achieve goals.5 years experience in building and enhancing systems and guidelines to streamline or integrate processes and expand the team’s reach required.Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County.Reliable means of transportation for onsite and off-site work.About the Position:
Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers, and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations, and by all PPLA employees. Supporting these critical services is an essential job duty, and a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.Work with the management team to identify funds needed and preferred funding targets.Oversee major gifts, programmatic and capital fundraising campaign, including partnering with CPO and VP and external campaign counsel in feasibility study, launch of and day-to-day administration of a robust fundraising campaign.Maintain relationships with fundraising volunteers, board members, donors, consultants and Development staff, and with other agency staff, as required.In partnership with the CPO create and oversee a strategic fundraising plan within PPAP inclusive of communications, direct mail, major gifts and events.Conduct research, prospecting, and application to multiple donor sources.Oversee PPLA's major gifts program and fundraising activities to strategically grow the program and fundraising campaign programs.Build a robust donor base through developing and maintaining key long-term relationships with donors and prospects.Coordinate and manage volunteer fundraising committees in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major and campaign gifts.Carry a robust portfolio of donors with the ability to give 5 – 7 figure gifts through discovery and disqualification.Work alongside CPO on management and strategy of shared donors.In collaboration with the CPO, create and oversee a strategic fundraising plan within PPAP.Oversee written fundraising reports to fundraising leaders, board, and other designees as necessary.Attend and present at PPLA Development Committee quarterly meetings.Attend and present at PPAP Board Meetings as requested.Create successful funding proposals and reports as appropriate.Manage direct report(s) to include but not limited to overseeing successful completion of tasks/duties, review of timesheets in a timely manner, setting productivity goals & quality of work output expectations by exercising effective judgment and addressing and/or elevating grievances (staff concerns), as appropriate.Adhere to PPLA’s policies and procedures for interviewing/selecting new hires, promotions, transfers, performance management and separations.Generous salary and benefits package includes:
