CDL Driver - Long Haul

Pay Rate: 40 to 50 cents per mile DOE
**Key Responsibilities: - Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, including inspecting trucks for mechanical items and safety issues. - Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. - Load and unload cargo using appropriate handling equipment. - Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods, etc.) as well as company policies and procedures. - Collect and verify delivery instructions. - Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly. - Maintain accurate logs of working hours, travel time, and mileage. - Coordinate with dispatchers and other team members for efficient and timely deliveries. - Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and report any issues for repairs. - Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the vehicle.
Qualifications: - Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. - Proven work experience as a truck driver. - Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.). - Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. - Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. - No recent moving or driving violations. - High school diploma or equivalent.
**Preferred Skills: - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Excellent driving skills and road sense. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Strong customer service skills. - Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy cargo.
