Cancellation Policy

Hospital may cancel up to 3 times per contract. Each cancellation could be a full shift or any part of a shift. (Hospital may also pay full hours for a particular shift, in lieu of cancellation).

Unit Notes

- Unit: MedSurg/Tele - # beds: unit is divided into 300 unit which is 14 beds and the 'main' unit which is 44 beds - Certs: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - Ratios: 1 to 4 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: No - Nurse Aides: one on night shift, one on mid shift, and 3-4 on day shift - Weekend Requirement: every other (4 weekend shifts in 4 week schedule) - Holidays: work them in with perm staff rotation - Scrub Color: navy - Tele: phillips - they do have a monitor tech - Nurse's Read Strips: yes - Drips: amiodarone, heparin, cardizem, fixed rate insulin, nitro, dopamine (only for renal dosing) - Vents: no but may get bipap or cpap - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: on call after hours - IV Team: no - RT 24/7: yes - Pharmacy 24/7: No - use marian for after hours after 10pm - Shifts: 12 hr shifts 6-6 - Floating: must float between 300 unit and the main unit - Floor specific orientation: 6 hours of orientation - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: 300 unit - surgical, ortho, medical, may get heparin 'main unit' - more cardiac focused, stepdown type of acuity - post cath, post pacemaker, post PCI, TAVR day 1 or greater, CABG day 1 or greater, sepsis, resp distress
