Positions available as determined by need during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2024-25 academic year. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory classes in Astronomy, Geology, Physics and Physical Science.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree in Physics, Geology or a related field is required.A teaching credential with two years of teaching experience may be substituted for the required degree.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSDoctoral degree in Physics, Geology or a related field.SPECIAL CONDITIONSFollowing a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.For health and well-being, Cal Poly is a smoke & tobacco-free campus. The university is committed to promoting a healthy environment for all members of our community.ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe Physics Department has approximately 45 faculty, whose primary function is teaching undergraduate physics courses to students in technical disciplines. We offer programs of study leading to Bachelor Degrees in Physics, with approximately 200 majors currently enrolled.ALL APPLICANTS are expected to attach a cover letter, resume/CV, teaching philosophy, and unofficial transcripts of their highest degree earned.
