STATISTICS, PART-TIME LECTURER POOLThe Statistics Department in the Bailey College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers from our local geographic area. Positions are available as determined by need during Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2024-25 academic year. Duties involve teaching undergraduate statistics courses.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSM.S. in Statistics or a related field is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or industrial experience involving applied statistics.SPECIAL CONDITIONSThe person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.ABOUT THE DEPARTMENTThe Statistics Department offers a program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics, while also offering minors in statistics, data science, and actuarial studies to students majoring in other disciplines. There are twenty tenure-track faculty members in the department, all of whom have their PhD degree in Statistics, as well as several full-time and part-time lecturers.ALL APPLICANTS are expected to attach a cover letter, resume/CV and unofficial transcripts of their highest degree earned. If applicable, please also attach a list of CSU courses you have previously taught, and a list of CSU courses you are qualified to teach.Advertised:
