Job Overview

The Sr. Account Manager will pursue sales leads to generate sustainable revenue and growth at expected profit margins for company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver top-line and bottom-line budgeted plans for your accounts;

• Develop annual joint business plans with key strategic accounts including, but not limited to, S&OP cadence, contractual negotiation, price management and new and incumbent item sales;

• Direct sales lead generating efforts to research and identify potential targeted new accounts, working to focus on strong potential customer partnerships and strong product categories;

• Develop and maintain sales plans, for both existing customers and new target accounts;

• Deliver highly effective first-in-class presentations on all capabilities for all divisions of company to all external customers;

• Strong P&L and financial acumen; able to navigate and develop ad hoc business case work to drive pricing and business growth changes that drive profit for company and customers;

• Develop and maintain effective cross functional relationships with Purchasing, R&D, Quality, Operations, Commercialization, Customer Service and Executive Management personnel at selected accounts and internally;

• Understand needs of specific accounts; purchase cycle, current contract status, approval process for plant audit, product approval, trials, pilots, etc.;

• Voice of customer into the commercial/R&D organization to ensure appropriate opportunities are prioritized and the needs of the customer are well understood and delivered against;

• Accountable for inbound new customer inquiries/RFPs;

• Close and convert open quoted and sampled opportunities;

• Prepare and review contracts with customers;

• Ensure Account target lists, sales and margin targets are maintained in future CRM;

• Monthly business reporting internally to demonstrate performance against plans, by account. Deliver presentations effectively and efficiently;

• Work effectively with finance to monitor contract status terms and conditions and coordinate responses to customer on needs accordingly;

• Coach and lead reporting staff as assigned;

• Strong working knowledge of the company brand and positioning and business units;

• Follow cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;

• Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements and Skills

• 5-7+ years of applicable experience sales experience within a contract manufacturing environment

• Nutritional supplement industry experience required;
